A special event was recently held in Brescia to recognize Ghanaians and Italians whose selfless devotion and achievements have helped Ghanaians in Italy and in Ghana.
The Ghana-Italy Excellence Awards was organized by Divino Organisation Agency under the leadership of Freda Cooper (Adwoa K.O. Bonsu), a student. She said that they managed to organize the event “with special assistance from God.”
The following were recognized during the event: Gospel Fragrance Charity (Best Ghanaian Charity Organisation); Pentecostals (Best Religious Organisation); Ghanaians in Italy (Best Social Network); New Tecno of Brescia (Best Entrepreneur); Agyemang Badu of Udine Football Club (Best Ghanaian Footballer in Italy); Zagidi and Felicity (Best Event Organiser); Bretuoba Quaku Agyemang (Best DJ); Ghanaian Nationals Association in Lecco (Best Ghanaian Association); Obed Duku (Best Rising Star); Kofi Osei Bonsu – Eddy (Best Master of Ceremonies); Aubrey Adofo Assiedu from Bocconi University (Student Achievement); Nana Yaw Badu Duku – Nkosuohene (Best Radio Presenter); Reigning Sisters (Best New Music Act); Inter Denominational Youth 4 Change (Best Youth Religious Organisation); Frimprince (Best Executive Producer); Reggie Tagoe (Best Journalist); Rete Brescia (Best Television Broadcast); Royal Palace in Udine (Best Royal Palace); Top Class in Vicenza (Best Beauty Saloon); and Samuel Kennedy Agyei Takyi (Best Author).
Special guests included Councillor Acri Giovanni Francesco from the City Council of Brescia and Regina Appiah-Sam, Head of Chancellery at the Ghana Embassy in Rome.
Dr. Acri praised Ghanaians in Brescia for being hardworking and law-abiding. He also praised their determination to send their children to school.
Musicians Efia Ampofuwaa and Daddy Lumba entertained the guests at the event which was sponsored by Roberto Bucci Company, the City Council of Brescia and the Council of Ghanaian Nationals Associations in Italy.
