Funds raised will be donated to Bidii school and local charities who work with the children of Kiberia, in Nairobi
Bristol born Gerson Barnett, co-founder of Made Africa - the fair-trade jewellery and accessories firm took up the challenge to climb the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro on his 40th birthday along with 17 other volunteers in aid of Made Africa.
Made’s ethos is “trade not aid” and “to provide employment and promote sustainable, ethical trade in Africa.” Peaches Geldof is among the UK designers on board at Made whose unique jewellery designs are sourced and made in underprivileged communities across Eastern Africa.
The funds raised from the Kilimanjaro challenge will be donated to Bidii school and local charities who work with the children of Kiberia, in Nairobi, Kenya. They’ll be used to help create a sustainable future for the children of Kiberia. “All donations are deeply appreciated and will really make a difference to the lives of the children of Kibera,” Made Africa says.
