It will apply only to non-EU economic migrants admitted into the UK to live and work
The Government will not apply annual cap on dependants of refugees and people granted humanitarian protection in the UK, Immigration Minister Damian Green has said.
In a written response to Mr. Pete Wishart, MP for Perth and North Perthshire (Scottish National Party), Mr. Green said: “There are no plans to apply the limit to dependants of refugees and people granted humanitarian protection in the UK applying for family reunion under Part 11 of the immigration rules.”
Mr. Wishart asked whether dependants of refugees and people granted humanitarian protection in the UK applying for family reunion will be included in the Government's proposal to introduce an annual limit on the numbers of non-EU migrants.
“The annual limit will apply only to non-EU economic migrants admitted into the UK to live and work,” Mr. Green said.
