Decreto flussi? No requests for new foreign workers - The Africa News

Italian government is still undecided on whether or not to allow new non-seasonal foreign workers into the country this year, Home Affairs Minister Annamaria Cancellieri has said.

She told the Senate’s Human Rights Commission that her ministry together with the Ministry of Labour were still reflecting on whether to publish a Quota Agreement (Decreto flussi) to open Italy’ borders to new non-seasonal workers.

Quota Agreement is a document the government normally publishes indicating the number of foreign workers allowed to come to work in Italy.

The level of unemployment in the country is “dramatic”, Ms. Cancellieri said, adding that there is almost no request for new workers.
