Keep your word on immigration, Turco tells government - The Africa News

The government should keep its word and urgently address some of the issues affecting immigrants in Italy, Ms. Livia Turco, MP, head of Democratic Party’s Immigration Forum has said.

Ms. Turco said some of the issues requiring urgent action include re-evaluation of the tax on Permits of Stay, prolonging of validity periods of permits, a concrete plan to handle the expected new wave of boat arrivals at Lampedusa Island, and the implementation of the Integration Agreement.

She observed that the government had promised to address all these issues but so far, nothing has been done.
