Integration Minister Andrea Riccardi has criticised Italy’s way of treating immigration as an emergency situation and called for an immediate innovative reform of the Permits of Stay.
He warned against using immigration for political mileage. Immigration is vital for the European societies, the minister said.
As far as integration of immigrants is concerned, Mr. Riccardi said Italy must come up with its own approach, without imitating failed approaches adopted by other countries.
