Regularisation: Summoning letter arrives after appointment date. What can I do?

Question: Hi, I applied to regularise a Kenyan domestic worker. Yesterday I received a letter summoning me and the worker to report to the Immigrations Office at the Prefecture. The strange thing here is that while the letter only arrived yesterday, we were in fact expected to report at the Immigrations Office last week. Basically, the letter arrived late. What should we do? Thanks.

Answer: Please write to the Immigrations Office at the Prefecture informing them that you received their letter after the appointment date. In the letter, please ask them to fix for you another appointment. Send it as a registered mail with return-receipt requested. Normally they should summon you twice before archiving your application, but please don’t wait for them to summon you again. You never know when they’ll do it, so act right away by sending them the letter requesting for another appointment. In the letter please indicate your full contacts including your phone number.
