A new law has come into force governing the use of self-certification. The Law Nr. 183 of 12th November 2011, amended the Law DPR 445/2000 on self-certification.

Who is entitled to Marriage Leave in Italy?

Each subordinate worker in Italy who gets married is entitled to marriage leave. This is a right recognized by both the Italian Constitution (Article 31, comma 1) and law (RDL 24 June 1937 number 1334). National Collective Agreements and Circular letters from INPS further indicate how the marriage leave is applied.

Question: I came on a tourist visa to visit my husband who lives and works in Italy. My husband has a Permit of Stay for work. I’ve been here for two months and should leave within a month’s time. But I’ve just discovered that we are expecting a baby. Can I remain in Italy with my husband?
New EU rules on consumer rights approved

The new EU Consumer Rights Directive has been formally adopted by Member States in the EU’s Council of Ministers. The new legislation will strengthen consumers’ rights in all 27 EU countries, particularly when shopping online.
After publication in the EU’s Official Journal, governments will have two years to implement the rules at national level.
